wow, i've actually seen some of these. what about pan's labyrinth?
i really liked pan's labyrinth! creepy, pretty, etc.
i am currently in possession of the illusionist & half nelson.
and of course, you know i am pro stranger ... and the departed!
i haven't seen pan's labyrinth! it didn't come to theaters in poor old dayton, OH, but of course i want to see it since everyone i know has been raving about it.
ruth, half nelson and the illusionist! you are a very lucky lady indeed.
ok, i watched half nelson last night-- i have to say i really didn't see what the fuss was about.
ruth, sometimes i genuinely think that you intentionally dislike things that i like, just to be contrary, because there is no conceivable way that you can really actually hate the following things that i love: boys with long hair, and half nelson. impossible.
also, i'm adding Frida to the list, which i watched today, and which i've decided should have been titled, "Salma Hayek's Breasts, and also, Frida."
i like frida, and, to be honest, selma hayek's breasts. they are truly magnificent.
i admit to being vaguely contrary in nature; however, bill didn't like half nelson either!!! so it's clearly not just me. anyway, i didn't dislike half nelson, but didn't see why so many people liked it.
i did think the girl's character was pretty interesting, and liked her relationships quite a bit. just that gosling guy is not so very interesting to me.
ok, i just saw babel this weekend because i thought you had it on this list. i must have been imagining things. it was a brilliant movie nevertheless.
I like boys with long hair!
chris, you are a genius. i forgot to put babel, which was fantastic, on the list. it was like a much, much, much better version of crash - the theme was so much more subtle. man, crash was awful.
although, to be honest, i could have done without the hairy monster part. yeesh.
ps - to kate: AMEN.
there is a hairy monster in babel??
just watched the illusionist! i really liked it. i like magic!
yes, ruth, there is a hairy monster, and after you see the movie, you will realize what a hilarious question you just asked.
